Ellipticals

Ellipticals provide a great low impact aerobic workout in the comfort of your home or gym.  But, with all the different brands and types of ellipticals out there how do you know which is best for you?  Below is a breakdown of the different types and brands to help you make the best choice!

Elliptical Types

Commercial Ellipticals
Commercial grade ellipticals are typically what you find in a gym.  They are very durable and designed to be used on a constant basis.  While they would make a great piece of equipment for home use, they are extremely high in price compared to home models.

Compact Ellipticals
When you don’t have a lot of space to workout you may find that a smaller, more compact elliptical is the way to go. Compact ellipticals typically have all the features of their larger counterparts, they’re just in a smaller package.

Fold Up Ellipticals
Those who have space issues or just don’t like big bulky exercise equipment in their house will want to opt for a fold up elliptical trainer.  Simply fold the elliptical up when done working out and slide it into a corner or closet.

Home Ellipticals
This is typically what the average person is looking for when elliptical shopping. They may not be made for constant use like a commercial grade model, but they are still durable and practical for personal use. They also cost a lot less than commercial machines.

Portable Ellipticals
Portable ellipticals are handy for those looking for an aerobic workout while away from home, especially if you don’t have access to a gym. Certain models will fit under your work desk making it easy to get a quick workout in during the time you are most sedentary.

Recumbent Ellipticals
These type of ellipticals have you sitting down on a seat rather than standing.  Similar to riding a bicycle, but you still have the arm movement of a traditional elliptical trainer.
